Hello Everyone!
It’s been a week since we last met and I truly missed chatting with you. I must say I was a busy bee during this “bye” week, working hard on a lineup of guests for you all to get to know, on topics that you may find interesting. I think I have landed a few….
I had the pleasure of attending a small gathering while I was visiting an out of town friend. My friend decided to treat herself and us to a catered afternoon of delicious refreshments. As we casually walked toward her sun-drenched kitchen, the conversation in progress suddenly stopped as the aromas of what awaited us came to tease us to move a little faster. Arriving, we were greeted by a festively laid table with an amazing selection of eye appealing, mouth-watering items. We were all oohing and ahhing and that was just looking at the table... The taste had us all saying we had died and went to heaven!
Now why am I telling you this, well, the chef introduced herself as Lucie Moulton and the name sounded so familiar but my mouth was full and I was in heaven so I sat nibbling quietly. Lucie talked about the food, answering questions about items new to us and explaining the little twist she had given to this or that sampling of comfort foods. She spoke about the farms that help her bring the freshest ingredients to the table and was extremely knowledgeable about nutrition and eager to share information. It was during this time that our host made the following statement:
“And that’s why they call you the Gourmet Goddess”
That was the clue that sent me from ‘sounds familiar’ to ‘flashing lightbulb’!!!
As my friend was seeing to the departure of her local friends, I lagged behind to have a cup of tea and chat with Lucie. It was a great moment, at least for me because if my hunch was correct this was a real live TLPR!
AND I WAS RIGHT!!!
You never know where life will take you, sometimes it is a great big world and sometimes it is very small. Our chat lead to a conversation about the blog. Lucie is an avid reader and The Living Pen appealed to her appetite and provided a quick read here and there when she had a moment or needed a break. After a few 'get to know you questions', I immediately knew a blog with Lucie Moulton, the Gourmet Goddess would be fun and very interesting.
I was so surprised that it took quite a bit of convincing, and bit cajoling before Lucie, the Gourmet Goddess agreed to allow me to pick at her “Method to the Madness” of “Impressive yet Easy Entertaining”. She is the most modest and down to earth person you could ever meet yet she is an amazingly accomplished woman who combined
her educational profession, her love of food and her passion for sailing into one incredible career.
If you love food, and love entertaining, you don’t want to miss this blog. Join me next week and get to know Lucie Moulton, The Gourmet Goddess!
