And So It Begins!

Hello Friends,

I’m Blu, a resident member of the Living Pen.  As you may have noticed the website is brandy new and I am soooo excited!!!

I would love to say our community is excited about it, but the truth is, they are still on holiday time and have not yet returned to the Living Pen.   So at the moment it’s sort of an empty bookshelf around here.  The only souls roaming are the resident meow, Chino, and me.

That’s Chino, not me…

Since I’ve been left to my lonely ol’self  here, I get to kick off the blog and that’s kinda cool.   I’ve been quietly pondering topics.  And I must say, Chino has not been interested in sharing any ideas.  However, yesterday he was attacking a scratching post with what I think you could call, exuberant enthusiasm, and he gave me an idea.   I decided to kick off the blog with something that would scratch my curiosity itch!

Did you ever hear the saying “There is a method to the madness”?  Have you ever said, “There’s a method to my madness”?  (shoot me a comment and let me know) I say it all the time, especially when writing.  So I got to wondering about what methods other people use to do their thing!    And the Living Pen’s first blog series “Method to the Madness” is born.

I contacted Peter Xifaras and asked if he would be interested in sharing his “Method to the Madness of Creating Music” and he said Yes!!!  For anyone who finds my name vaguely familiar, but perhaps couldn’t place me, I am the writer that created the stories on his Award winning spoken word release, Pacific Dreams.

We will be chronicling (pestering him with questions) on the creative process of his yet to be recorded jazz-fusion album as he creates it.
Join me on Saturday,  February 6th for our first “Method to the Madness” blog post.
